Fax system issues and guidance for solicitors

We’re currently experiencing system issues meaning we’re unable to send or receive any faxes. We’re working to fix this as quickly as possible and apologise for any inconvenience.

Release of funds

If your client's solicitor has sent a fully completed Certificate of Title (COT) for completion and funds release, then all funds will be released on the date asked for. The solicitor won't recieve fax confirmation of this, we'll instead send it in the post. If there's any delay to the funds release, we'll call the solicitor to let them know.


Any clients with a completion due by the end of the next working day, their solicitor can email documents to us:

For solicitor firms affected by the recent cyber incident and unable to email us, they can call us on 0345 266 8928* and select option three. Completions taking place outside of these timescales should follow the normal process.

Redemption statements

If your client is an existing Bank of Ireland UK mortgage customer and requesting a redemption statement via fax, please direct their solicitor to our existing customer website for more information.


*Lines are open 9am to 5pm Monday – Friday (excluding Bank Holidays). Calls cost no more than calls to geographic numbers (01 or 02). Calls from landlines and mobiles are included in free call packages.
